Do you know your First Amendment rights?

In 2011, only 3% of individuals surveyed by the First Amendment Center could name the right to petion the government.

  • Only 14% named right to assemble.

  • Only 17% cited freedom of the press.

  • Only 19% named freedom of the press.

  • And 62% knew they had freedom of speech.

  • Thirty percent of Americans cannot list any of the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment.

Is it important to know what's in the Constitution? 

Absolutely, because if do not know your rights, they are much easier to take away.
