Do you know your First Amendment rights?

In 2008, only 15% of individuals surveyed by the First Amendment Center could name freedom of the press as a right.

  • Only 56% named freedom of speech.

  • Only 15 percent cited freedom of religion.

  • Only 3% knew they had a right to petition the government.

  • Finally, only 14% understood they had a Constitutional right to assemble and associate with the people they choose.

Is it important to know what's in the Constitution? 

Absolutely, because if do not know your rights, they are much easier to take away.
