January 7th, 2009: The Five Living Presidents Meet in the Oval Office

Each man above had a turn on the stage as the single most powerful individual on the planet and then, with the exception of President Obama, whose turn still remains, voluntarily stepped down for another. Whether or not you were a fan of all, or any of these men, our democratic ideals in action can sometimes be truly amazing. That our leaders transfer power without violent coups, peaceably, through the process of counting our votes and assenting to our will, is something not to be taken for granted.
